Description
Cedarwood has also been used for centuries as a natural aphrodisiac. Some reports even claim that the oil is an aphrodisiac because of its ability to stimulate the production of testosterone in the body. While testosterone is often used as a male enhancement drug, studies don’t support this theory. One of the primary reasons for this discrepancy is because of the large amounts of synthetic testosterone in most supplements. With Cedarwood Oil, however, there are much fewer synthetic hormones, so it has been studied as an aphrodisiac.
Cedar oil also benefits your skin. This oil is also used as a topical anti-aging treatment, but the results have been less than positive. In fact, it was one of the first substances used in anti-aging creams to come under scrutiny by the FDA due to its negative side effects. Today, however, research shows that it may actually help slow down the aging process. Studies show that the oil stimulates collagen production, which helps skin retain moisture and tone, and reduces wrinkles.
When using cedar oil, avoid applying it directly to the skin or to an open wound as the result could result in skin irritation. Cedar oil can also cause allergic reactions when it is accidentally ingested and should therefore be diluted with water or alcohol prior to using.
